At Scuba Store, diver safety is our highest priority. These Cylinder Inspection Terms govern all visual inspections, cylinder evaluations, valve inspections, hydrostatic testing coordination, and related cylinder services provided by Scuba Store.

By submitting a cylinder for inspection or related services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.


1. Scope of Services

Scuba Store may provide the following services, where available:

  • Visual Cylinder Inspection (VIP)
  • Cylinder valve inspection
  • Cylinder valve servicing
  • Internal and external cylinder inspection
  • Hydrostatic testing coordination through authorized testing facilities
  • Cylinder cleaning
  • Oxygen cleaning (where offered)
  • Inspection reports
  • Cylinder identification verification
  • Other related cylinder services

The availability of services may vary depending on the cylinder type, manufacturer specifications, applicable regulations, and workshop capabilities.


2. Customer Authorization

By submitting a cylinder for inspection or service, you confirm that:

  • You are the owner of the cylinder or have the owner’s authorization.
  • The information you provide is accurate.
  • The cylinder has been safely depressurized unless otherwise instructed.
  • You authorize Scuba Store to inspect the cylinder and its valve.
  • You authorize the requested inspection and related services.

If additional work is required beyond the original request, Scuba Store will seek your approval before proceeding whenever reasonably possible.


3. Purpose of Inspection

A cylinder inspection is intended to evaluate the condition of the cylinder at the time of inspection.

The inspection is performed to identify visible or detectable conditions that may affect the cylinder’s safe operation.

An inspection is not a guarantee of the cylinder’s future condition, performance, or continued serviceability.


4. Visual Cylinder Inspection

A visual inspection may include examination of:

  • External cylinder condition
  • Internal cylinder condition
  • Neck threads
  • Cylinder markings
  • Corrosion
  • Pitting
  • Cracks
  • Mechanical damage
  • Heat damage
  • Bulges or deformation
  • Valve condition
  • Signs of unauthorized modifications
  • Other conditions affecting serviceability

Inspection procedures may vary depending on cylinder type and applicable industry standards.


5. Hydrostatic Testing

Where hydrostatic testing is required or requested, Scuba Store may coordinate testing through an authorized hydrostatic testing facility.

Hydrostatic testing results apply only to the condition of the cylinder at the time of testing.

Scuba Store is not responsible for any deterioration, damage, or misuse occurring after testing has been completed.


6. Inspection Results

Following inspection, a cylinder may be determined to be:

  • Serviceable.
  • Serviceable after recommended maintenance or repairs.
  • Requiring hydrostatic testing.
  • Unsafe for continued use.
  • Condemned or permanently removed from service where applicable.

Inspection results are based solely on the observed condition of the cylinder at the time of inspection.


7. Cylinders Determined Unsafe

If a cylinder is found to be unsafe or unsuitable for continued service, Scuba Store reserves the right to:

  • Refuse to refill the cylinder.
  • Refuse to return the cylinder to service.
  • Recommend repair, valve replacement, hydrostatic testing, or permanent retirement of the cylinder.

These recommendations are made solely in the interest of diver safety.


8. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate ownership and cylinder information.
  • Informing Scuba Store of any known damage, impact, overheating, fire exposure, flooding, corrosion, or previous repairs.
  • Proper storage, transportation, and use of the cylinder after inspection.
  • Complying with all applicable inspection and hydrostatic testing intervals required by law or manufacturer recommendations.
  • Inspecting their equipment before every dive.

9. Inspection Limitations

Cylinder inspections are limited to conditions that can reasonably be identified using accepted inspection methods.

Scuba Store cannot guarantee the detection of:

  • Hidden defects.
  • Internal manufacturing flaws.
  • Future corrosion.
  • Future mechanical damage.
  • Damage occurring after inspection.
  • Damage caused by misuse, accidents, improper storage, or transportation.

Passing an inspection does not guarantee that a cylinder will remain safe indefinitely.


10. Service Records

Scuba Store may maintain inspection records including:

  • Customer information
  • Cylinder serial number
  • Manufacturer
  • Cylinder specifications
  • Inspection date
  • Inspection findings
  • Service recommendations
  • Technician or inspector identification
  • Photographs taken during inspection
  • Inspection reports

These records may be retained to support future inspections, maintenance history, customer requests, and legal or regulatory requirements.


11. Limitation of Liability

Scuba Store performs inspections using reasonable care, professional skill, and accepted inspection procedures.

Scuba Store cannot be held responsible for:

  • Hidden or latent defects that could not reasonably be detected during inspection.
  • Damage occurring after the cylinder leaves our premises.
  • Failure to maintain the cylinder after inspection.
  • Improper storage, transportation, filling, or use by the owner or third parties.
  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications performed after inspection.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Egyptian law, Scuba Store shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use or misuse of any cylinder following inspection.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Egyptian law.


12. Compliance with Standards

Cylinder inspections are performed in accordance with applicable industry practices and any relevant manufacturer instructions and legal requirements in force at the time of inspection.

Inspection procedures may be updated periodically to reflect improvements in safety practices, applicable standards, or regulatory requirements.


13. Changes to These Terms

Scuba Store may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in inspection procedures, applicable regulations, industry standards, or business practices.

The latest version will always be available on our website.
